Nice revised slimline design; miss the 'power on' light though I recently received my redesigned LaCie Porsche Mobile drive and here is my experience. Was only able to get it from the box for the product registration process Usage of the included back up software tools was very intuitive and I had no issues selecting the areas that I wanted to back up. The actual back up process was quicker than expected.

Although the extremely sharp edges give stunning glare, but it also very easy to scratch other surface and it does not have the non-slip mat, which also makes the hard drive inconvenience and vulnerable. It needs to install a software before you use it the first time (included), which is a software that helps you format to one or two hard disk partition to either or both FAT32 (for Mac, Windows, and Linux) or NTFS (Windows). The transmission rate is at an average of 102MB/s for my 7200RPM sata3 desktop hard drive.

USB-C-USB-3.0 cable seems to have broken both my MacBook Pro USB 3.0 ports I have MacBook Pro mid-2012 with two USB 3.0 ports.

These ports worked fine until I started using this hard drive with the USB-3.0 to USB-C converter cable. The I have MacBook Pro mid-2012 with two USB 3.0 ports. These ports worked fine until I started using this hard drive with the USB-3.0 to USB-C converter cable. Then the USB ports broke one after the other. By 'broke' I mean the USB male 'plug' no longer fits all the way into the (female) port. This includes other USB cables which I have been using for years - none of them work now. I am very, very careful inserting and removing USB cables, and have had no problem for many years, until I started using this hard drive.
