The printer(s) are USB. One is an Epson R1800 and the other is a Brother All in one. I did consider sharing the printers on one or the other, but I was hoping there was a way for Mac and PC to share. This is the first time I've used Parallels.

I guess it is a usb, so in this case try to use a any other usb device with macosx to check it is working and then on xp, in this way you will soon realize if the general setup is working or not. Let's say that is working with all other devices, which I think might be the case, then you should try from within windows xp to choose a proper virtual usb port for this printer. Open the xp control pane, open the printers' configuration box, check if the hp printer is present, if it is there right click it and choose properties, there you will see which port is using, now open the configuration panel of the Parallels virtual machine and check that the port is existing there too, the ports should match. If there is not match you should try to fix this aspect. This is written on the manual of parallels that is a virtual machine as I guessed, as you can see if it is a usb printer you need a special workout as it can be either connected to mac osx or directly to the virtual machine and in the second case it would not be available o mac osx.
